We had spent our day exploring Yellowstone National Park before heading out the South entrance to get to Jackson, Wyoming. We arrived late in the evening and got settled into our cute Airbnb located in the heart of the city for our 2 night stay. We woke up early the next morning surrounded by some of the most stunning mountain scenery.
We started the day off with a scenic drive through Grand Teton National Park. The beauty of the Tetons is truly breathtaking. This is something you can experience in just one day, but if you have more time, stay longer! The National Park map navigates you to the iconic viewpoint where you can capture unforgettable moments. For this, there's not much to say so we will let the photos do most of the talking.
Jenny Lake

Incredible lake views with towering peaks behind. If you are lucky the mountains will reflect in the lake! There is also a short hike to Hidden Falls for a beautiful waterfall backdrop near by (1.3 miles).
Schwabacher's Landing

A peaceful riverside spot with stunning reflections of the Tetons on calm water, especially beautiful in the early morning mist.
Mormon Row Historic District

Rustic old barns set against dramatic mountain backdrops, perfect for capturing the essence of the West.
Cascade Canyon Trailhead

A scenic trailhead with wild flower meadows and mountain vistas.
Wildlife

Wildlife sightings, like moose and eagles, added to the magic. Reminders that this park is alive with natural wonders.

- Taggart Lake and Phelps Lake: Serene lakes with crystal-clear reflections and vibrant wildflowers during the right season.
- Jackson Lake Overlook and Colter Bay Village: Lakeside views with marinas and mountain scenery, ideal for sunset photos.
Afternoon Adventures

After a morning of soaking in the beauty of the Tetons, we went to experience the famous Jackson Hole Mountain Aerial Tram. We ascended above the valley for panoramic views of mountains, rivers, and forests that took our breath away.
At the summit, we took in the views at the Grand Teton Skywalk. There is also a famous Waffle Restaurant called Corbet's Cabin. Of course had to stop and get a bite to eat. The last waffle is served at 4pm. This cabin is a historical marker for Jackson Hole and has been around for generations.

After fueling up, we laced our shoes and set off to hike down the mountain trails. This was not our original plan but, because of the cost of the Gondola we wanted to get our moneys worth! Make sure to bring bear spray! The descent offered a refreshing mix of forested paths, wildflower-filled meadows, and sweeping vistas. The hike down was invigorating yet peaceful. A perfect way to connect with the rugged landscape and enjoy the mountain's serenity. In total, it was just over 7 miles down.
If this is your first time in Jackson Hole, we'd recommend checking out their Summer First Timers Guide which has some great activities you can do.
Evening in Jackson Hole
After our unexpected hike, we headed back to town to explore before dinner. We were able to easily walk around from our Airbnb. The town square, framed by the famous elk-antler arches, buzzed with life and warmth. We had worked up quite an appetite and ate dinner at a hidden steak house under the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. The food, wine, and service was amazing! After dinner we went upstairs to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar for some drinks and a fun night on the town. They have horse saddles as bar stools, pool tables, and live music all night. You are truly immersed into the authentic western atmosphere.
Final Thoughts
You don't need days to experience the majestic Tetons (but if you have more time, stay). There are so many incredible views, hikes, and experiences to be had. We were able to see the highlights of Grand Teton National Park, explore Jackson Hole, and enjoy a memorable evening in town. If you crave stunning landscapes, outdoor thrills, and an authentic western atmosphere, Jackson Hole and the Tetons are calling and we cannot wait to go back!
